All,
Today marks 15 years on AR for me. I joined up after a trip to South Africa and have never looked back. I have taken my family on many Africa trips and have rejoiced and enjoyed every minute of time spent there.

I got a lot of good advice from you all and want you to know I appreciate it.

Best advice?

1. Make the first shot count.
2. Use enough gun.
3. Hunt with a top knotch PH in a good area.
4. Trust that top knotch PH.
5. Enjoy the hunt, leave the tape at home.
6. Go again....

Thanks to all,

Ross

I'm heading over to the USA today for a short hunt.
Since I became motivated to hunt overseas I have sought and received the best advice from the members of AR. Any public posts or PM's were always responded to promptly and politely. Thanks to AR members I have dealt with excellent and honest outfitters and guides.
The greatest pleasure has been getting to meet some of the AR members at various times. A great bunch of dedicated hunters and gentlemen, particularly the poster above.

Like many of you, I have enjoyed and learned a lot from AR.

I discovered Andrew Baldry here from Frostbit (Jim) and my last three safaris have been with him.

The discussions we’ve had have been fun and informative for the most part.

I have bought a number of really great rifles off of the classified firearms section from some very honest and honorable men here.

AR is a great source for investigating and getting recommendations from fellow members on places to hunt and PHs to hire. And it exposes the ones to avoid as well, which is just as valuable.

Thank you to all of the members who have contributed so much to my education.

And finally, thank you Saeed for providing this forum. It is the best! Smiler

P.S. congrats dogcat on your 15th!

Time flies, doesn't it?

I have many friends from being a member on this site. Many I have gotten to meet in person over the years. How cool is that?

Thanks to Saeed and Don and all the rest who participate here.

Saeed,
I can assure you Frank is indisputably a first rate, top shelf scholar and gentleman.
I am indebted to him for several acts of kindness and assistance.
Sadly, in person he is nowhere near as exciting as his avatar might suggest. I would go as far as to say this might be bordering on false advertising.

I’ve been an AR member for almost 11 years, and have received some great advice from people like Frostbit, who helped me plan a week of touring Namibia with my wife in 2012, with stops in Etosha and Swakopmund. Thanks to Hunting Reports by Dogcat, I’ve gotten hooked on Eland stalking, and head back to Namibia for more Eland hunting in less than 3 months. Special thanks to our host Saeed for sponsoring this great site.

Virtually everywhere in the world you go there is an AR member. Must have met 30 odd in Nevada.

I have always found each one exceedingly generous and always willing to extend a hand.

Many thanks Saeed.

Dogcat:

I have very much enjoyed your hunt reports over the past few years.

30-06:

I did the same hunt (aoudad) with the same outfitter about 1 1/2 years back. It was top
notch and I found the hunt on AR.

I like that there is no advertising or "agendas" with the site. You can certainly see which
outfitter are good!

By far the best hunting site that I have been on.
