Has anyone used this type of reticle in Africa? How did you like it? especially in an open country like Namibia where shots are long. Thanks, Ahmed

I haven't used it....but it looks to me like another solution for which there was no problem. Rich Elliott Rich Elliott Ethiopian Rift Valley Safaris

Ahmed If I had thought about it all day I could not have come up with a better answer than Rich did. I think you'll find even in Namibia your PH will be reluctant to let you shoot much beyond 300 yards. If that is the case the B&C reticle is not necessary since at ranges around 300 yards or closer you can hold dead on or high in the body and make shots easily with almost any modern cartridge. I watched a shooter use one at a shooting course, and he did well with it at 300 yards and 400 yards. It wasn't necessary at 300 yerds with a 200 yard zero as the holdover is not large, but it was helpful at 400. You need a laser rangefinder to complement it on the other side of 300. jim if you're too busy to hunt, you're too busy.

A friend of mine has one on a 300 Win Mag. A fter it was properly zeroed he had no problem hitting a 9 inch plate at 415 yards. At 300 yards on paper it is dead on. With a rangefinder and a reticle like this or a ballistic cam scope it eleminates "guessing" where to hold. You still have to figure the wind and hold the rifle steady. Lots of practice is still necessary to hit game at 300 yards and out. But to answer your underlying question, the reticle does work. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Ahmed, I used a TDS reticle (same principle as the BC reticle on the Leupold) on a Khales scope in Tanzania with a .338WM for several plains game. I was glad to have it to shoot a hartebeest at about 350 meters. Hopefully my next African trip will be in Namibia and I plan to use a .300WM with the Kahles TDS. As common as it is, the standard duplex is the perfect reticle for hunting all game under all conditions...bit thick reticles leave me cold and abscure too much stuff out there...
