As a group we (sportsman) need to write a good letter and send in support of Lion hunting. You know that the Anti-hunter group are rallying the troops to flood the FWS to stop lion hunting. The time for differences in what one hunts, should be set aside and a letter written in support lion hunting. Both SCI and DSC are working to help save lion hunting. Now we need members to send a letter of support, weather you will ever intend to hunt a lion or not. If you sportsman want to sit back and let lion hunting slide, what will you do when the next animal appears, let it slide also. The Anti hunters are working one animal at a time, and soon they will pluck your last feather. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> "You've got the strongest hand in the world. That's right. Your hand. A great example of how groups like SCI and DSC should mobilize hunters on this issue. They need to use their membership lists and the ability to use the internet to orchestrate coordinated responses to facilitate the ability of members to engage with minimal effort. SCI made some attempt to do this before on the ban. Candidly, regretfully, I have not seen anything from DSC facilitating the ability of its members to engage. Mike

Prior to the closure of Lion and Leopard hunting in Botswana - we held Predator workshops organized by the Department of Wildlife , these workshops concluded that the Lion and Leopard populations in Botswana was stable and not in danger - there were some red flag areas such as the Kalahari and Nxai Pan complex, these workshops were attended by most of the leading researchers from around the globe and more esp Africa. Lion hunting was closed followed shortly by Leopard. It does not matter what science reveals there are more powerfull forces that control these issues than science - science is only used to support these bannings when convenient. There are Lion researchers who were once pro lion hunting when they started and science mattered , but now the quest for sponsor funding and fame is more important than science , some of these researches now own lodges , conflict of interest ? History is a lesson not learnt by anti hunters

The outcome is exactly as expected, to a "T" frankly! I defer to Lane for a more simple explanation/opinion at some point, as I am slammed guiding/hunting at the moment. I suppose it definitely could have been worse?
