I used them in 96 and 98 without any problem. They do have a laundry list of assorted charges that are (designed to be?) rather baffling. Some folks here have been less than happy with their service, but I have no complaints, except for that laundry list.

I used them in 95 and 97 with no problems. They did raise their prices significantly betweem 95 and 97 as their only competition at that time had gone out of the business as I recall.

DHunter:

I also used them in 2002.... expensive. I am trying Keystone Fur Dressing Importer this time. Their number is 717-677-4553.

They are also a great Tannery that my Taxidermist uses. My last trip I used a different tannery and their work sucked, to put it mildly.

I had to resend my Buffalo cape back to Keystome and have it thinned out. The other tannery left so much skin on the hide it was 15 pounds heavier than a Buff cape from Keystone. The thinner the cape, the better the definition of the mussle texture, skin folds, and so on in the mount.

Regards... Jim P.

As far as the work is concerned it's fine. As far as the price........well I'll never use recommend or ever consider them again for my hunters!

They charged me 450 bucks to clear a hyena skull and a Blue wildebeast skull, on top of the 250 for shipping them. Then to add to this they charged me 180 bucks for the UPS from NY to Seattle. 880 bucks for two skulls to come to me from Zimbabwe. The Bluewildebest was for a hunter who lives near me and the Hyean was mine.

Since that time I have had similiar shipments through coppersmith and small local brokers in Atlanta who have charged about 80% less then they did.

180 bucks for UPS from NY to Seattle. That is about biggest "bill padding" I have ever seen. The actual UPS charge was more like 35 bucks maximum! So they added on about 150 bucks for.........hmmmmm......What? did they go by limo from F&F to the UPS dock?
