Does anyone know if anybody is hunting the Eden Wildlife Trust in Namibia. Several years ago we nearly booked a hunt a Eden with Jamy Traut. Jamy left Eden right at the time we were booking, so we changed our plans and went to Botswana instead. I was curious if anyone was still hunting Eden. It sure seemed like a great place 10 years ago. Jamy is still hunting. He is doing his own thing up in the Concession areas the last time I heard. I can probably track his number down if you would like to contact him... ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

I was by there this past June having hunted there in 2001 or so when Allan Cilliers had it. I was told by the folks I was with that it is a mere shadow of what is was. Allan Cilliers and his family have Sandveltd(sp?), a very nice ranch sharing a common boundary with Eden. He operates that as a bow concession(as Eden was back in the day) and it is spectacular.

The N#A-Jaqna Conservancy and surrounding Conservancies have had a series of problems with illegal settlements and the associated cattle herders. There have been numerous court battles attempting to evict illegal squatters from the Concessions. It has only been in the past year that the Government is finally getting a handle on this. A lot of this stems from lack of foresight when the Concessions were created. But the government isn't screwing around and is now leveling the playing field. There have now been quite a few Concessions that have established Wilderness/Non-grazing zones to stop encroachment. In areas where this has happened, wildlife numbers explode and Concession hunting zones benefit tremendously. The Conservancies are in a much better position today to offer exceptional fair chase hunting. Now if we can just get some rain and healthy grass to support the wildlife. ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

Pretty good rain in Windhoek up to Okahandja. In fact, eight days ago Windhoek and Okahandja flooded. Unfortunately, very little has fallen up north of Outjo and Kamanjab but generally they do not get the rains until the end of January and February. Still not a blade of grass to be found up there. Etosha is hurting. ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.
