Inasmuch as 99% of the misses I have seen in my life were over the back of the game shot at, I quit using the plus 3"s at 100 yards a long time ago...I sight in 2" high at 100... Some guns BTW will shoot 1" high at 50 and again at 100, others not, so you must check your individual rifle when it comes to trajectory... I want my iron sights 1" high at 50 yards and hopefully dead on or 1" high at 100 yards....My scope 2" high at 100...

Still the best way to do it is to go out to the shooting range and shoot the different bullets at 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300m. All rifles perform differently. It helps a lot to have calculated balistic info. Once you know where your rifle is shooting learn to judge the distances in various scenarios and fire a lot of shots. Nothing beats knoledge and practise with your rile. A 375 H&H is the best all round rifle, enjoy yours. Mine is a perfect companion, I love it. Quote: I'm reluctant to post loads on the internet, simply because some youngsters have a habit of useing them without a work-up. My loads are nere MAX, and in some cases ARE MAX! CAUTION < !--color-->:This load is nere MAX, and should be backed off to about 75.0 grs of IMR 4831 to start 300 gr Nosler Partition Brass Remington Powder: IMR 4831, 79 grs Primer: CCI 250 Cronoed @ 2550 fps The load is the same for the 300 gr Barnes super solid, EXCEPT < !--color-->, the powder load is 76.0 grs MAX. these two loads shoot to the same point of aim in my rifles, but the Mono-metel solids build more chamber pressure with the same load as a jacketed NP!

I have to go along with Ray, regarding missing by over shooting. Most folks just don't believe how flat even non super magnums really shoot. Couple that with over estimation of range, which leads me to have missed every animal by shooting over them. My .375 H&H load is W-W brass, 300 gr. Swift A-Frames, and 77 grs. of W-W 760 powder. I use any magnum primer as I can find little to no difference in velocity or accuracy of the different brands. I too, use a CZ 550 Magnum. Look at the .30-06 trajectory with a 180 gr. bullet and your .375 is right on track. I zeroed my .375 for dead on at 200 yds., but knew the drop out to 300 yds, because what ever you read, that is a looonnnggg shot. An old fart in Utah, I met on an elk hunt cause me to never miss an animal. He said to pick the animal up with the horizontal cross hair and squeeze the shot off before 1/3 of the animal passed. The only animal I missed since then was a bullet hitting a limb, I fail to detect. I agree with you, shoot inexpensive bullets in practice, then sight in your rifle with your hunting bullets. For practice, zero your rifle, then start shooting off of sticks. I use cheap paper plates on stakes, set at different ranges, a timer, check the range only after I have shot, to help judge range. I shot about 10 rounds off hand every range session, because as I found out, there are those times you just don't have time to get on the sticks. For 3 of us, we went through 17lbs. of powder getting ready to fire less then 30 rounds on our hunt. Practice, practice, then practice some more. Remember a drop of blood means you just paid for the animal. Good luck and don't forget to dry fire.

Gentlemen, Thank you all ever so much, I appreciate your input. I believe I'll start with 2 inches or so high at 100 yards and then see what it does from there. I'm really curious to see what this rifle will do at 100 plus yards. It sure was easy getting nice groups at 50 yards. Hopefully it won't be a snowstorm the next time I go to the range! Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of waiting for better weather, this rifle came as a surpise. I was planning on using my trusty 30-06 and had everything ready to go with that but then this little beauty of a CZ 375 came up. Boy am I having fun! Thanks again and have a great Christmas! Got my 375 in January here in Idaho. Could only wait until March before I just had to shoot it in the snow! Shot every weekend until my trip to Namibia in July. Sighted in 2" high at 100 with Federal factory with 260gr Nosler AccuBond, it was 0" at 200, and 8" low at 300 yards. It did look hokie with the drop and windage table I printed out and taped to the stock, but I just remembered to turn the rifle over for pictures.
