Hi Fellow Hunters

My name is Jacques. I have just joined the NOA team as their Ops Manager, I feel that this is a great forum to share our hunting stories and update you guys on whats been happening on in our concessions across northern Africa.

Here with an update on our season in Central African Repulic. (C.A.R)

As some of you may know we had to Postpone our first three hunts due to unrest with the Seleka Tribe from northen C.A.R. This was very short lived as expected and everything returned to normal.

This allowed us to get our Second group of clients in on the 16th and 30th of January.

Both our NOA PHs Pete Wood and Thierry Labat had successful Lord Derby Eland Hunts. They both took 50+ inch Eland in the first few days of hunting. (pictures and measurements to follow as soon as I have them)
This freed them up to successfully get Yellow Backed Duiker, Savannah Buffalo, Lewels Hartebeest, Sing sing Waterbuck, Red River hog, red flanked duiker, blue duiker.

Very Unfortunately after sitting for three occasions Pete Woods client wounded an huge Bongo. Sadly it was a flesh wound and after 6 long hours of chasing and tracking through the forest and Backos they realized the would not catch up to the the Bongo.
They client has said that he would like to return to C.A.R with his son and take a Bongo.

Thierry Labat starts his second 20Day Combo Eland/Bongo on Thursday this coming week. we will keep you updated.

Congratulations to NOA PH Thierry Labat on his 30" Western Roan this morning. Another great trophy to go with his 50+" Lord Derby Eland (LDE) and Yellow Backed Duiker.

Great Start to 2013.

Welcome to AR Jacques, and thanks for keeping us in the loop re the performance of our buddies. Seems like they are doing okay, just a quick question for Pete from me.. Why did he only follow the bongo for 6 hours? Is he getting a little soft around the middle in his old age?

Cheers, you guys take care, David

Hey Martin,
was on the phone with Thierry yesterday and in email contact with our people in Bangui this morning and nothing was mentioned.
Our contact at Air France confirmed that flights are still going in.

So as far as we can tell all seems fine that side.
