Many of you know Roger and may have hunted with him. I met with Roger at the SCI Convention in Reno. At that time he donated a hunt for the SCI Los Angeles fundraiser held last weekend. The buyer of the hunt has been unable to contact Roger. He notified me and my attempts have likewise not had any results. His website is gone and the phone numbers dont work. Roger is an old friend and I am concerned on that level and I am also interested for the buyer of his donation. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks

Rancherjack All is well with Roger, no worries. I am a freelance journalist and work with him. I'll be seeing him the next day or two and will convey any message if you want. An email address he can be reached on is rogerw@humani.cc. Dave

David-I have hunted with Roger in the conservancy in the past and I am considering hunting with him again in the future. It is my understanding that he has lost much of Humani to squatters in the last few years.I have also heard that the plains game has suffered greatly from (snaring)poaching. Can you give me an idea of how things appear from ground zero. Thanks in advance for your response...mike We seldom get to choose But I've seen them go both ways And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory Than to slowly rot away!

Eyedoc Roger has lost some of his land to squatters, but the vast majority of Humani (100 000 acres) remains squatterless. The land that has been lost (30 000) will be recovered, at some point. Yes, the poaching has increased in recent years, but we have it contained. I personally have been in charge of anti-poaching operations on Humani the last few months, and have been working with an outstanding anti-poaching unit trained up by Roger himself. Our results have been a lot more spectacular than the poachers'. Poaching will always be a problem in Africa, it is just important to contain it and make its impact negligible, as we have been doing for so long. Towards the end of last season, I accompanied a hunt on Humani, with the Hutchison family of Atlanta, Georgia and PH Thierry Labat. We took 30 good trophy animals in 14 days, including two buffalo, leopard and heaps of plainsgame. Read part of that adventure in my story 'The Day of the Spiral', which is on page 3 of this forum. I don't think you will need any more evidence than this. I would be happy to give you contact details for the Hutchisons and dozens of other satisfied clients, should you wish. Last year was an awesome season on Humani and this one will be better. You know Roger, so you also know that he would not be selling if the hunting was not good. As you are aware, he is a highly ethical operator. Roger is hunting many different areas in Zim now and they are all consistently producing quality trophies, as always. We look forward to hunting with you again on Humani, Sir. Dave

Eyedoc I shall be doing a full season's hunting with RWS this year, and will keep you posted with stories and pictures, if you wish. I will be kicking off in April and hunting both Humani and Chewore extensively. Dave
