My first safari starts August 1. My friend and I will archery hunt for six days near Bulawayo (Peter Johnstone) and then go to the Zambesi valley (Martin Pieters) for buffalo, with 375 H&Hs.

We can shoot some plains game with our 375s while buffalo hunting if we want, but our goal is to kill most of that with our bows.

Question, I am planning to take 40 300 grain swift A Frames and 20 300 grain Hornady solids. Given that I might shoot several plains game with my 375, should I substitute some of these 300 grain bullets with something lighter, or should I keep it simple and shoot all 300s?

I really enjoy learning from this site.

Thanks

I'd keep it simple and shoot everything with the 300 Gr. bullets. If you decide to bring some lighter weight bullets for the plains game, you'll most likely will have to resight your rifle for the lighter bullets. Of course you could do what I do and use the 270 Gr. TSX for everything, but that would involve working up a new load for your rifle.

Stay with the 300 gr SAF. I've killed hippo to bushbuck with them. You don't need anything else.

I agree with the majority; keep 300g in both softs and solids.

Simple it is, 300 A frames for everything, except a few solids if needed for fleeing wounded buffalo.

I appreciate the guidance.
