Has anyone hunted with Mafigeni Safaris? Interested to hear what you think. I was also wondering if anyone has any input on the Tag Safari shirts? Thanks. Rich.

It seems to me that the shirts run a little small and short for size marking. Otherwise I like them.

I shared a caribou camp last month in Quebec with a really good guy who has hunted with and recommends Mafigeni Safaris. I believe his was a private land plains game hunt. I could probably get more info if required. Tag shirts are made with great fabric and the olive color is the best. The other poster is right on regarding size, order up one size and avoid long sleeves as they are too short but you can always cut them off if you have the same problem. Adrian

No information on your Outfiiter question but I must say you need to look at this link for your shirts

Long Grass Shirts

These are excellent shirts and I buy a couple each year. My closet is beaming with them. I use them for hunting and work. Super quality and great folks to work with.

I made my one and only safari to Mafigeni in 2004. We were treated like family, hauled all over creation, fed like kings and saw a bunch of game. They seem to have good working relations with several ranches in the area so if they don't have what you want they'll go out and find someone who does.

I've also got one Tag shirt that I can't seem to wear out, it's comfy and comes out of the wash looking great (at least as good as any shirt looks on my squatty body).

I went last year 2x1 with my younger brother. We had a great time with JIll and Claude, Gary was our PH for the 12 days, plus 2 days of photos in Kruger. We saw many quality animals, went to bed full every night, and had a great time with the geckos, little warthogs, and frogs at the lodge.

We got all of the animals we were after, except my brother never caught up with a large warthog. They have plenty in the area, but the grass was a little high last spring. Big impala, kudu, duiker, zebra, blue wildebeest and a great nyala.

Highly reccomend them for a hunt, other than blesbok the hunting was either on their ranch or just a few minutes away. My wife had a great time too, she went sight seeing to all kinds of great attractions. We had a great time, and even took a couple of days to tour around.

Tag clothing is about the cheapest ie poorest quality stuff you can waste your money on...I bought some stuff from them, their sizing is pretty off- I bought 2 pair of the same size pants in different colors, one pant was about 2 inches smaller in the waist and two inches longer in the length.

They make em in Zimbabwe (or they did) so the material is really cheap, and the clothes I received had a pretty disgusting smell, reminded me of some kind of disinfectant....

complete waste of money- you can just go to your local sporting goods shop and get Columbia or similar clothing locally- there is nothing magic about ordering from a "safari clothing" firm

My tag shirts are four years old and could not be further from the description given in the post above. They're great.

Mafigeni is a good outfit. Hunted with them and Rick R. I echo his good words. I especially enjoyed the time with Gary ... good hunter and PH!
