Hello everyone,

I just found out my PH for my upcoming Zambian Safari is Darren Chowles...anyone hunted with him before or know if he's a member here? It's always nice to put a face to a name before hand. I'm sure he's a fine PH...curiosity..nothing more.

I know Darren and we have had a few beers together after PHAZ meetings. Seems a stand up character but I have never hunted alongside him.

I think he is from Zim and does some hunting for the Du Plooys?

Darren is a great guy and a very experienced PH, just got back from a trip with him. Feel free to PM me if you want to speak in person.

Will you be posting a hunt report? I understand if you don't...but it is one thing I miss about this forum.

My wife and I hunted with Darren in 2015. We had two mature buff on the ground within two days hunting 2X1. He's an excellent hunter and a good companion.

Thanks for the info guys...I'll post a report once I get back. Hopefully I have some nice animals to show off, but More importantly I just like to hunt...get up early, go to bed early..no messing around. This is the first time I'll be in Africa sitting in a blind so it will be a different kind of challenge for me...I get antsy real quick.

Get a comfortable chair and a good book. I doubt you will be sitting in a blind long. Good luck.
