Some photographs of preparation for the 2014 season from Burkina Faso.

Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries on earth, but rich in wildlife and the spirit of genuinely nice people. It offers a range of new species of game to hunters who have never hunted before in West Africa.

Caterpillar on the way to camp

New thatch on the dining area

Late rains leaves the camp with high grass everywhere

Cleaning the swimming pool. It' a life saver once things start warming up.

Putting together a hunting truck! They look like S...t but run well, most of the time! These live in the camp in the bush like farm tractors. Not the pride and joy of many PHs!

Serious elephant grass, this is where the game are.

Stuck in the mud! This year was very wet with rains that continued well in to October

Burning the high grass

More burning

Starting to dry up pretty quickly

Roan! Pretty nice one from the grainy picture. No HD cameras here!

Duck for lunch

More Roan!! Reports of big herds and some very good ones seen.

Western Savannah Buffalo - red and black together, take your pick! The first buffalo of the season was shot yesterday. Buffalo congregate there in large numbers during the early season!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Mike your lion is somewhere in that high grass! They have seen tracks of quite a few big lion. Biebs its not Butch you have to worry about with the vittles its me! but there is always fire roasted duck and the trackers lunch Smiler.

Brian hope to see you back in BF soon, they even cleaned the pool for you.

This year we are trying to get a fly camp going, to hunt a portion of the concession which has never been hunted before!

Cheers,

Arjun
