She must really be worth fighting over!
On the other hand, think the pic could be photosopped ( or even posed ?) The horns on the bottom don't even appear to be locked up...I'm not referring here to whoever posted, but wonder about the pics' original source...

Wars have been fought over a woman...

D/R Hunter

Correct bullet placement, combined with the required depth of bullet penetration, results in an anchored animal...

That was my first thought but if you look at the horn tip(in the foreground) of the upside-down bull you can see that the tip is below the boss and hooking down and in. The tip of the bottom bull's horn is doing the same thing on the other side.

My guess would be that they were sparing and fell causing their horns to lock. If they were standing upright the horns would be free.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

The trickle of blood from the nose was unconvincing until clarified.

Had the survivor not been shot, might there have been a possibility that it would have regained enough energy to walk away?

On falling one may have broken its neck. Once rested and recovered, the other would have had no problem in disengaging itself as there would have been no counter resistance offered; to bad somebody felt sorry for it.

Bottom line, and the joke is not on me, they did not kill each other. coffee

Nope re-read the first paragraph..

"These two Cape Buffalo were found dead in Mountain Zebra National Park
(South Africa) after apparently battling and their horns became interlocked..."

I saw these pics and a few more about a year ago. Its hard to say without being there, it does not look faked or photo shopped to me. I would love to have those skulls in my trophy room.
