On my trip to Africa in 2001 before I started handloading, I used Remington Safari 300 grain SAF in my Sako Safari .375 H&H. Excellent accuracy and performance from 80 yards to 315 yards. The Federal Trophy Bond Bearclaws shot OK, the Winchester Fail Safes shot poorly in my rifle. The Rem SAF shoot great in my rifle. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the above depending on your claiber and how YOUR rifle shoots them. I now reload and am very happy with North Fork softs and Cup Points, GS Custom Flat Nose Solids, and Swift A Frames. Good Luck. RCG

Yes, Federal Premium is readily available and features your choice of Trophy Bonded Bearclaw softs, and Sledgehammer solids as well as Nosler Partitions. Norma also loads factory ammo that I believe is only available from Cabelas here in the US. Norma ammo features Swift A-Frames and Barnes Solids. TBBC and Sledgehammers are awesome! Great accuracy from both, and weight retention from the soft. If you cant find Federal Premium locally try Graf and Sons or MidwayUSA. Try all of the above and see what works best for you and your rifle.

This summer I used the Remmington 180gr Swift A-Frames in my .30-06 double with great success. I normally reload the 250 gr A Frames for my 9.3x62 and other calibers but there was not enough time before I left this year. Pleasantly surprised with accuracy also as they regulated well in my Krieghoff. Other hunting companions have used the Federal TBBC High Energy with good results. Try several and see what shoots well in your rifle. I love reloading, but when I can find a good premium factory load that performs that well, I'll spend my limited reloading time on other cartridges. (.44-77 Sharps, 9.3x74R, and others.) A few dollars spent before the hunt will bring rewards in the field both from the practice you get trying various rounds and knowing what your chosen bullet will do down range. Good luck. ______________________ Guns are like parachutes. If you need one and don't have one, you'll likely never need one again Author Unknown, But obviously brilliant. Yes Contact Larry at Superior Ammo. While it is not factory ammo in the true sense of the word, I have had my hunting clients use it in the past with very good results. Let your focus be on the bullet used.....the manufacturer is secondary. Example:...I like the Swift A-Frame so find the company that uses it...if it's federal...so be it...if it's Remington then buy from them. The brand name don't mean squat to me...the bullet they use does!! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I have used Winchester Fail Safe 270gr on plains game, and Remington Premium Safari Swift A Frame 300 gr for my 375 H&H. With the Fail Safes, I have taken 7 animals including a Kudu at 450 yards, with the Swift A Frames I have taken two Buffalo, the first taking two killing shots and one for insurance, and the second a one shot kill at eighty yards. I don't plan on using anything else. Don't think I need to.

In my Ruger Magnum 416 Rigby bolt gun 400gn NP's and 400gn TBBC solids shoot within 1/2 inch of each other at 100 yrds, loaded by Federal. They group about 1 1/2 inches. Thats the load I'm taking to TZ next month........JJ " venator ferae bestiae et aquae vitae "
