Great pictures. I'm no expert by any means, but I'd say less than 6, not that it matters because he's clearly a pride male.

Those photos were taken with a Canon 7D. I had a Canon 70-200 F2.8 lens on with a Canon 2X converter.

He is in superb condition, his teeth are near perfect, his coat is shiny and his muscular build in great. In his prime. Age, as we all know is difficult to determine, but I cant put him at more than 6/7 years.

Sir Saeed, Lion and lioness mating was outstanding photography. Video of old broken-tusked bull elephant mating with tree was hilarious! Thanks for sharing. Teeth are still pretty sharp and white. But the lion is at least 6 years old with his totally black nose and scarred face. Elephant self massage: Nothing beats a mud bath in the Limpopo and then a frolic with a tree, when you get to be that far past your prime, says Tembo. Reminds me of Walter's method of birth control. The latest snack for a riflecrank's eyes, .408 Chey-Tac Sporter with Dan Lilja barrel on an MRC PH: All it needs is a Walterhog equivalent bullet, custom made by GSC, to go with the usual .408 bullets offered. Then snack number two would be a CZ 550 Magnum with "Kevlar" stock aiming for 9-1/4 pounds dry ... A 1X scope would make it an elephant rifle, adequate to scratch any itch.

Have a look at one of the zebra. He has a broken neck.
|

Does the broken-necked zebra have an atrophied left front leg? Looks pitiful, puny, asleep on three legs? Lion food. Did a lion break its neck on failed attempt to eat it? Or can Walter somehow be blamed for this?

He seems to walk rather normally, no problem there at all. I have other photos, and will post them later.

Hard to imagine mode of trauma that would produce such deformity without more disability or death. Maybe it is a congenital deformity, a hunchback, a tumor, etc. ??? Maybe a vet like Dr. Lane (ledvm) could opine, or say if he had ever seen anything like that in his large animal practice? Maybe Walter sired the deformed zebra on one of his previous safari adventures? Bestiality?
