See Ray you can hunt buffalo in Tanzania and harvest a forest elephant in the Congo. Not too bad. I'm sorry to hear that you're going to slow down your hunting. It's always made for an interesting read. Hopefully you'll miss it too much and pick up the old shootin iron once and a while. Anyway, I've got the initial list of calibers and weights I'll offer. I know some will wish that I had chosen differently but I've got to concentrate on the ones that sell so I can turn a profit. Then I wont forget the rest of you. Besides I like to shoot a lot of odd ball things. OK the start off list is: .375 - 270 gr .416 - 370 gr .423 - 370 gr .458 - 450 gr .474 - 500 gr .510 - 550 gr .550 - 700 gr .620 - 900 gr Once I'm off to the races I'll add: .358 - 225 gr .366 - 270 gr .550 - 600 gr .620 - 725 RN After that I'll see what the market wants and respond accordingly. I'm not taking any orders until I've got everything in place. I think I've got something people want and I want to do this right. Last time I rushed into the market before I had the support issues resolved. Not again. John

So do the solids roll across a smooth table? Or, are they bent at all? Are they pure copper or copper alloy? I would think they would bend at some point, but I hope that isn't true. Thanks.

I am glad to see you are going again. I had contacted you before but that didn't work out. If possible will you send me the prices you plan on using for these. Thanks, Frank

Will, I don't have the bullets. Mike was kind enough to send me the photo. So I can't answer if they have been bent or not. I have my guess but since I can't check I'll keep it to myself. I'm not going to give up the exact makeup of the material. John

Of course I do not expect you to reveal your secret formula, but except for the brass Barnes and Speer AGS solids, all the rest have bent in my experience, if ever so slightly. I hope yours didn't, and don't. But there is obviously a limit as to how much abuse a bullet will take before bending unless it is so hard as to be brittle. I wasn't there to take measurements! but would hope for more than 20" of penetration, but again without knowing the exact bullet path, it may have had "sufficient" penetration in any case.

I have shot some 5 or 6 buffalo with the Bridger solids, but how the world can you get one recovered I don't know..All mine passed through, even lengthwise, knocked off a sudanese prostitute, two Ethopian chimps and skidded the ocean to take out 4 Russians and two pollacks, one mink and a Mongol on a Reindeer. Its a dandy solid..

Good looking bullets after being in an elephant! Will you be able to export them to Scandinavia and Europe when you start up again? Erik D.

That's great results, and speaks well of the bullets.

Will, The solids roll very smoothly across the table...There is no thumbing as they roll just a smooth even rolling sound... Mike

Here are two targets 500grs shot with my FN solid. This was a 375 H&H Winchester 70 I don't know the caliber (although it appears larger than the 375) or rifle.

Like I said, I wasn't there, but 20" doesn't really get you started on a big bull. If it wound up going thru the trunk and below and behind the brain, I would guess that the penetration was much greater than 20".

I am delighted Bridger is coming back. They are great bullets and I doubt Barnes quality will ever get close, even if they do change to a flat nose. Fritz454, do you still have some of those test targets to post?

With Mikes' permission I am posting an email he sent to me along with a picture of the recovered bullets from his buffalo and elephant: J & B , Attached are the bullets recovered from buff and bull ele.. The first is a Barnes 450gr. X bullet hit right above the heart on the right side traveled thru to just behind the left shoulder bulging the skin on the far side...He went 15 yds. after hit and was down... The next two are Bridger solids the first penetrated the skull between the eyes but too low...Went below the brain but traveled over 20 + inches of penetration...The second Bridger I aimed for the shoulder and heart area as bull was spinning and as it hit him it traveled forward thru the front of the chest and continued all the way thru the neck to the left side but missing the vertebrae... The last bullet is a 500 Jeffery solid fired at he bull's left hip but missed the bone...But gave him a big PIA.... Mike The X bullet was from the buffalo and all of the solids were from the elephant I also want to let those interested know that I will once again be offering my Bridger Bullets FN solids. Although not "open for business" yet I am going to give it another try. I've restructured the process and will not be offering so many choices in calibers and weights. The inventory was too much to handle for a start up. I will start with one weight in each caliber and will not officially open until I have 10,000 of each bullet on the shelf. Expect a November/December opening. I will post more information as things progress. Starting with a list of calibers and weights later today or tomorrow. John BTW - Mikes elephant was the first ele, that I am aware of, shot with my bullets. He is also the first to recover one from an animal and must say I am pleased with the consistency (although I expected it). The one that went into bone looks identical to the one shot into soft tissue. John

Will, If I read this right, it went through 20" of skull/bone under the brain. Is that bad penetration? Should we expect more on those frontal brain shots? Les
