Elmo, Nothing personal but there is no end to these discussions (arguments?). I know (or I think I do) what I am talking about and I am sure you do too. Actually was watching the Sherlock Holmes movie "Pursuit to Algiers" last night where Dr. Watson sings Loch Lomon'. Being of Scottish decent (I am claiming no relation to Karamojo Bell, and was not his best buddy as he never made that elephant movie "Mojo on Dumbo," never endorsed a certain brand of kerosene lantern, and never pimped the gallery for dollars, or is that Scotch farthings?) the lyrics just came blurting out. Sorry. ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. Here's one I heard. "He's no Karamojo". From a tracker who will remain nameless. "The chase is among the best of all national pastimes" -Theodore Roosevelt

Mr Will You are absolutly right that there are no end to these kind or discussions, but they sure beat the hell out of the '06 vs. .270 debates. One of these days, I hope to catch you in an ornery mood and we can lock horns for fun and amusement. As far as Loch Lomon' goes, 'tis a lovely song that warms me heart. If ever you bust out with a rousing version of "Danny Boy" I'll meet you where the high road and the low road come back together and stand you for a fine single malt. Regards Elmo

Elmo, Loch Lomon' is quite the depressing song, when one thinks about it. The fact that he is getting to Scotland afore ye implies to me this guy is going to die or is dying and his spirit will be in Scotland before his friend can get their in person. It is quite the significant ballad which is probably why it has endured for so long. But to the more trivial.... A good analogous test would be to get up on the roof of your house and drop an egg and a golf ball into a bucket of water and let us know which has the greatest initial penetration. And it ain't gonna be the "soft." ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. Will The song ain't that depressing. For we all know... 'Tis better to die in Scotland.... Than to live in Pittsburgh.... As far as your experiment goes, it would never work at my house. My big yellow Labrador/ web handle Elmo would eat the egg in the air on the way down. Then he would catch the golf ball and bring it back up on the roof... Regards Elmo
