TABLE 1 Ineffective or Dangerous Methods of Removing Ticks: What Not to Do ________________________________________ Do not use sharp forceps. Do not crush, puncture, or squeeze the tick's body. Do not apply substances such as petroleum jelly, gasoline, lidocaine (Xylocaine), etc., to the tick. Do not apply heat with a match or hot nail. Do not use a twisting or jerking motion to remove the tick. Do not handle the tick with bare hands. A pair of that type forceps or the key like the those pictured above would be a very good investment if hunting in tick infested hunting fields. ......................................................................... ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith | |||
