Does anyone know of a good light weight waterproof bag that you can slip a cased or uncased rifle into when it starts to rain? I've used a case like this that the outfitter had while hunting in Alaska, but I don't know where he got them.

Divex in the UK have many bags for underwater and in water use.
They make a gunbag for underwater use. SBS uses it

http://www.divex.co.uk/military_waterproof_bags.html

There are no pictures of the bag on the web-site but I have seen it in their catalogue. It is black naturally.
Now this bag is "100%" water proff like a dive suit.

Cheers,

Andr

They mnake a variety of gun-slips, in camo of course, for waterfowl hunters that actually float. No zippers. You slid the gun in the wide end and fold the flap over and secure it with the attached velcro strap. I don't know how small they roll up but they appear as water-tight as a seal's butt.

Natchez shooter supply sells a lightweight nylon slip that goes over a gun. It weighs nothing and folds up very small. Their website is natchez shooters supply

I used one in Alaska and it was great. It is velcro all the way. Bad in that it is noisy to open but you can clasp it very tight around your sling and carry your gun over your shoulder in a normal fashion. Was pretty tough too. Especially nice when there isn't room in your tent for the rifles and it is raining constantly.

I carry mine on every trip.

I can't find it in a quick search on their site. It is near the gun cases in the catalog. I can look it up at home if need be.
