What in the heck is all this retirement talk crap?

Just got back from DSC....I thought it was great.

I am about to 'screw the pooch'.....AGAIN, meaning put another deposit down on an Elephant hunt......so I am confident that I will remain young, and working.....and hunting another 3 years. At least it keeps me healthy, and these hunts are the cheapest form of health care insurance I can find.

SOMEBODY TELL ME ABOUT JAMY TRUAT SAFARIS. For me, this guy came out of nowhere!! A man named Dwight Van Brunt (VP at Kimber) is crazy about him. His outfit in in the Caprivi. It is family run and owned. I liked what I saw. Since Bots is out -I had to look elsewhere.

Now I have a HUGE choice to make: 1. Ivan with a wonderful place.
2. Mataputa with huge areas.
3. Mark Young has a good guy.
4. Of course Martin Peters.
5. Karl is also in Caprivi
6. Lou Hallimore in Mat 3
7. Ron Oliver in Mat 5 with Forestry.
8. Guav in Kazuma
etc. etc. etc. etc.

BUT.....SOMEBODY TELL ME ABOUT JAMY TRAUT....PLEASE.

Bots is GONE

This past spring, I was corresponding with him about a non-trouphy ele bull hunt. We had worked everything out but the dates and I was ready to send him a depoist when he quit e-mailing me back. I e-mailed him several times but I never did get a response. Don't khow what happened. It is a same, I was really excited about hunting with him.

Jamy is an excellent hunter and a pleasure to share a camp with. I hunted eland with him last June and loved the experience. His email can be spotty at times- he has multiple concessions and is very busy. His home camp is near Rehobooth, he has a concession in the Kalahari, and the area in the Caprivi. I plan on booking with him again very shortly for non-trophy elephant (or a lioness if he gets one on quota).

I remember emailing him ten years ago or so about some hunts. He's not new. He's been doing plainsgame hunts for a while.

This isn't an endorsement, because I don't know the guy, I just know he was in business at least 10 years ago.

Hunted with Jamy in August 2012 in the Caprivi.Shot a 54 lb bull also got a nice hippo and lechwe.Top notch Ph with alot of repeat clients.This was my third hunt with him.

I can tell you that Jamy Traut, his wife and two boys, are relaxing in a lake cabin somewhere in South Dakota right now!

I have been on 4 safaris with him, planning a 5th, and they have all been too good to be true.
