Probably the wrong forum for this post, but is more likely to be seen here…Friday, December 2 is “National Day” (much like July 4 in the US) for our friends in the UAE, I hope our friends in the UAE celebrate and enjoy their holiday! Karl Evans

Thank you very much my friend. Just got back from the desert. Practically every sand dune had someone camping on it. Met an Indian family with a couple of dogs. Huskies. One was called Mia, which so happens to be a friend's wife's name. Could not resist taking a picture and send to her! As you can imagine, got a funny reaction. Had to pull several people out. Including two young ladies trying to be clever and driving in the desert in a 2 wheel car! Got them out, told them which way to go on hard ground. But, being women, managed to get stuck again! My Warne winch came in handy! Then the camels came. Told the girls might as well get a pair of camels. One said "but they are all females" As you can imagine, all hell broke loose! A friend was laughing so much he had to be clobbered on his back so he can breath! Honestly, I have no idea how I manage to get into these situations. We don't have turkey dinners, but friends are coming over for the World Cup matches later. Have not decided yet what to cook for them.

I have not heard of this. Enjoy your country’s day. Would you care to share the basics of UAE, what it is and how it came to be such?
