Good humor, I reckon we should get an 'impersonate Walter' competition going.

Bal shot this one. Maybe he will chime in and tell the story but best I recall is the animal was quartering toward him and he hit it centered up on the front shoulder. It was a complete pass through exiting one of the hind quarters (I think the exit was on the left quarter). What you see is either the exit wound or where we rolled it on the ground positioning it for the photo. He was using a Sako 416 rem mag, factory ammo loaded with 400 gr Noslers. Animal ran about 100 yards before it expired.

Mississippian,
that's exactly how it happened, that is an exit wound that you see, earlier on this hunting trip,I shot an impala female,I got peed on for that one! stalking this beast my P.h was very careful & extremely vigilant,I was like a meek little kid following his instructions to the letter, the stalk was fun & exciting,we got in position, there was a group of about four wildebeest that stopped next to some termite mounds,my p.h selected the best looking male & I let him have it,range about 150 yrds, the nice looking male just took off like he had been just touched with a b b gun,I was in the doghouse again, this meant some more walking,we could'nt spot a blood trail, luckily for me there was a maybe 13 yr old afrikaner who was working on the farm & could'nt resist but join in all the fun & excitement, well this kid,my new found friend picks up the trail while all the adults are walking around shaking their heads,I was so impressed,a few minutes later, one dead wildebeest laying on the ground some 20-30 yrds away!
It was a nice looking animal, there's still one mystery that we are trying to solve to this day though......,how did it turn into a female! ha ha ha ha,it was just too damn funny, while our p.h. was scratching his head,it was now my turn to console him,he was a very good p.h,I would hunt with him anytime,I hope he can see the humor in this, this was my first safari to the dark continent,I had the best company with my friend the Mississippian, the hunting was excellent, the stalks were exciting,I am ruined for blinds now,the laughter was endless,am I going back? you bet!
