Ladies and Gentlemen, Pictures from Mamba's hunt with PH Rory Muil in the Zambezi Valley of Zimbabwe. Here's Mamba's description of the hunt from his previous post: "My wife and I returned from zim last week and have been trying to recover from the airbus ever since. The trip went well as we hunted with rory muil out of the chizirra lodge for the first ten days. Tracked and shot two old dugga boys with the old model 70 .375. Both bulls agreed that we were using enough gun. Shot solids on both as the bush was so thick it seems that you rarely get a clear shot. We walked more on this safari than we did on our ele hunt in 97. Rory is a great ph and it was a privilage to hunt with him. We stayed out of the big herds and just followed singles and doubles as this is what we like to do best. Ended the buffalo hunt and stayed on and hunted elephant for a couple of days before moving to kwe kwe to hunt sable on the rhino conservancy. Saw lots of ele but didnt see the 70 pounder that I was looking for. On our last evening we drove into a pride of lions which werent really bothered by our landcruiser. After watching them kill and partially eat a baboon we followed them through the mopani for a hundred yards or so. They would just move a bit then lay down and watch us. I saw six different lions with two small males and one huge lioness. She was the biggest female I have ever seen but didnt want to shoot her as she seemed to be running the show and the other younger ones seemed to follow her lead. There was one other big cat but we couldnt get a good look at his mane as he always stayed off to the side. Rory said we could get out and push him but might have to shoot one if they got nasty. I already have a super full mane lion from Kabuba region and really didnt want to shoot another. Rory commented that his last clients would have each shot one out of that pride. Feels good to know that there are still lions roaming the tribal areas. This was our fourth trip and we have seen lions during the daytime on the last three trips. We moved to the midlands next and rory was able to show us a good sable on day three down there just before dark . After shooting the sable we hunted eland and other plains game but didnt fire another shot until it was time to leave. We did see three black rhino which werent behind a fence which was one of our major goals. Even saw our first giraff in the wild. There was a lot of plains game to shoot but I was being picky because the house is already full of taxidermy. The charters were on time and easy and harare airport was nearly deserted. No problems with officials in zimbabwe. Had more of a hassale getting an overnight gun permit in south africa. Stayed at the afton house and they were great and they had optima escort us through the airport as part of their service. Even met and had dinner with two hunters, rancher jack and bob from pensylvania. Will post pictures when I figure out how. Overall all a great trip thanks to jack atcheson and sons, russ broom safaris, and rory muil, and peter beizenhout."

Glad you had a good safari Mamba. Rory is quite a guy. My friend shot a buff with Rory that had almost the same exact shape as your second one. Terrific sable! I've hunted with Rory twice and we couldn't quite outsmart the sable either time. But we came close and took many other great animals while trying. Kyler
