Hello Saeed

Hope all is going well in Dubai for yourself and family.

Was looking at a very interesting website on the Arabian Oryx specie mainly found in Saudi, but some apparantly also in some wildlife park or privately owned in UAE ...

Do you have any yourself, or know of any in UAE as they are a beautiful specie

Regards, Peter

I have been to Dubai many times, and I always stay at the Grand Hyatt.

They have always had these post cards with photos of Gemsbok on them. The card incorrectly claims they are Arabian Oryx. But they are tan and not white, and muscular and not dainty like Arabian Oryx are.

They must have got those photos somewhere.

They are beautiful animals. I lived in Saudi as a child and they had some in captivity close to our house in Abqaiq. It was probably some sort of captive breeding program, but all of us kids thought it was our own private zoo.

Peter,

We are all doing great thank you.

I do not ahve any of these I am afraid, but have seen them in some parks.

Our government is doing a good job ofre introducing them back.

That's great news! I doubt that they'll be in large enough numbers to hunt in Dubai but perhaps someday, somewhere on the Penninsula . . .
