Greetings to you all I am a new member on this site and would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my work. I am an in-field hunting journalist operating in Zimbabwe (with Roger Whittall Safaris mainly), and the author of one book entitled ‘The Shangaan Song’. I write hunting articles for various magazines and also produce personalized hunting journals for visiting hunters. This hunt journal concept is totally unique, and to my knowledge I am the only person doing it. Allow me to tell you a little about it. A journal comprises a minimum of 20 000 words and is well illustrated with color photographs. It is an up-market publication – hardcover and leather bound, if desired. I obviously accompany the hunt in question, diarizing events and taking as many quality photographs as possible. Although a journal revolves around a particular hunt, much background information is also included – history of the area, information about animals hunted, etc. Of course, I always have my laptop in camp, and any hunter who hires me leaves with a formatted draft of his hunt on disk. The completed journal is FedExed within a week or two of a hunt’s conclusion. I am also able to film if need be, but I am not a professional videographer and I do not edit footage. There is no extra charge for this service – it is an aside for those that want it. Should you be interested in having a hunt journal produced, please contact me and I will send more information and a sample journal for your perusal. Also contact me if you would like to order ‘The Shangaan Song’, which is available in the US. The book is a collection of true adventure stories from the bush, and is illustrated with wonderful line sketches and color photos. I have posted the back-cover write up below, and a couple of opinions. Anyone who would like to sample a story or two before deciding is welcome to get in touch. My email address is hulmour@yahoo.com. Thank you David Hulme Back Cover The time-span covered by this story is all in the eye of the beholder, as is the direction taken by a traveler. It could cover a period of seventeen years through the eyes of an inexperienced mfana (boy), or it could cover a century of history through the eyes of an ancient and wise mdala (old man), it all depends on which way you look at it…….. The Shangaan Song is a ragged assortment of stories from the bush, as non-conforming and unpredictable as the land in which it is set. Adventure, comedy, tragedy and paradox, this book is a stimulating and evocative read for anyone who knows rural Africa. Or for anyone who wishes to know it. His love for his country and his fellow men shines through it. Dr Colin Saunders – Author of ‘Gonarezhou’. Well-drawn and convincing….skillfully captured. The African Hunter Magazine

Hi David, After reading several of your stories, all I can say is, "where have you been?" This is the most descriptive and compelling writing I have seen since PHC. I will certainly buy your book, and I am certain many others will as well. Cheers!
