Many years ago, too long ago to remember where and when, I purchased an "elephant hair bracelet" made from copper wire. It could have been at one of the Kruger Park Shops or somewhere else in Northern Transvaal, now Limpopo province. I would like to buy some additional ones, any idea where I could find them in SA?

There's a very high-end crafts shop in Arusha that might have them. I can't remember the name, but some of the TZ PH's might be able to. They often refer their clients there.

I don't know about in S.A., but in the States you can get copper elephant hair type bracelets from the Elephant Hair Bracelet Company. They have a web site, and are at the major hunting shows.

Yeah, that's it! He's a piece of work, and my buddy's wife really blew the budget in that place. He really pushes the Tanzanite. Good restaurant, too. If he doesn't have a copper bracelet like you're looking for, I'd wager he can find one. Edit: I looked for a website, but if he has one, I can't find it. Mr. Seif is missing the boat on this, and it's surprising, because he is a top notch salesman. It's a great place to visit in Arusha and has artifacts from dozens of tribes, maybe more, from all over Africa. He is opening a newly built museum next door in a really radical building. He gave us a tour. It was still being stocked when we were there in August this year.

Many have been domesticated and can be found in hunting camps, lodges and in the back of vehicles."

Don't know if it helps, but I got one in Vic Falls. A nation with dogs and whiskey beats Nazis. A nation with cats and spritzers is asking to be shoved around.

I met the lady today and she has deals in shedloads of all kinds of jewellery, esp Africa and African hunting related jewellery including hand tied elephant hair style copper bangles. She'd never seen a double or treble but I gave her one of my doubles and she's gonna try to have her maker copy it in doubles and trebles and possibly with and without tritium watches mounted on them. She also uses extruded gemsbuck horn which I've never seen before. It's a bit stronger than elephant hair but looks and feels very similar. Christ alone knows how it's produced though! She likes to stay private for the obvious reason but if anyone needs to contact her to discuss anything, please contact me by PM or email and I'll be happy to put you in touch.
