Just back from a hunt in Zim, Had success and took a leopard. I thought things were in better shape than they were last year. Saw a couple of political rallies and the camp was emptied one day to take all the workers to Binga for a political meeting.

The day before the election we had some Zanu PF supporters in camp singing songs trying to get the vote out.

The grass is high and plentiful, water everywhere and the bush is green.

Lots of snakes too, 2 mambas, 2 cobras and a big python were seen.

Will post a photo of the leopard soon.

Hunted with Gavin Rorke - Russ Broom Safaris.

Congrats and looking forward to your full hunt report and pictures!! Did you take the .416?

Sometimes you get lucky and get a couple of leopards. Thought the genet cat was a nice one also.

Used a Sako 375 with Federal TBBC on leopard and 375 sledgehammer solids on genet.

Glad to hear you had a good hunt. Seems that Gavin is always into leopard. Will be hunting with them in August. What camp did you hunt out of? Did you charter in?

Congratulations on your hunt.

I believe I hunted out of the Kabuba camp right behind you in '02. Didn't your wife take a terrificly wide (45") buffalo on that trip? Seems like I saw it in the skinning shed.

Kyler

Bwanamrm,

Did not take the 416 this year. Am already looking at going back next year for ele and buff so either the 416 or 404 will be going.

Gunny,

Gavin has 4 leopard so far this year. Saw Rory, Kevin and Flash all are in good spirits. Hunted out of Songo but took the leopard out of Chininga camp. We were baiting a wide area. In August brush should be down as it was high and green recently.

Kyler,

That was us right before you in 02, my wife took a buff that almost went 47" I always have Gav on the lookout for a bigger one for me. Maybe next year.

BigB,

Congratulations on your successful hunt. BigB brought a photo of his wife's 47 inch buffalo to the S.C.I. Chicago Chapter Fundraiser. Needless to say, it caused quite a stir.

Glad you and your wife had a great trip.

gunny,

Plenty of eleephant and buffalo left for you. Also I should have brought a shotgun as it seems like more birds than usual.
