Deidre,

My clients using your service in conjunction with Gracy Travel have found the whole process of transitting O.R. Tembo to be seamless. Thanks so much for your attention to detail.

I am staying there in May and August this year, and they are doing my gun permits both times. I will say that their communication has been fantastic and they have my permits for May done and in hand. I have both parties of hunters that are going over with me staying there, and they are certainly taking good care of everyone...

My son and I are looking forward to our stay at AfricaSky this June.

The staff was extremely helpful and expeditious in obtaining our rifle permits for our Safri this summer.

Welcome to the Forum!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the AfricaSky last August. It was a welcome respot after the long flight and then continuing on to Mozambique. They held our hand from landing to take off!!! I would have no problem recommending them.

Best regards, D. Nelson

I have stayed there in the past and will be staying again in mid-May.Signed on for the pre-arranged gun permits and have been advised that they are now in hand.

So far the process has been straightforward and I looking forward to seeing the crew soon after our arrival.

Another vote for Africa Sky Guesthouse! Bwanajay and I stayed there last October and really enjoyed the facilities... but the lamb chops were to die for!

not trying to stir the pot, but to those who have stayed there and at Afton, how would you compare the two? i am sure that there are many here who have experience at one or the other but i would really appreciate a comparison of the 2 options. i transit Joburg just about every year and am always looking for different options. again, no disrespect to the poster and am DEFINITELY not trying to start a fight.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome! A special thanks to Martin from Bulembi Safaris for introducing us to AR.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any info on permits. We are happy to assist even if you don't overnight in Johannesburg.

I've stayed in both (Afton several times as well as the hotels near the airport).. AfricaSky handsdown will get my business whenever I travel through Joburg. We stayed there in Oct on our way to Zim. It was by far the best room, service, breakfast and and dinner I have had at a Joburg bed & breakfast. It was great.

They treated us really well. The other places pale IMO.

+1! With all respect to the Afton House who were pioneers in this service, Africa Sky Guesthouse facilities were much nicer and comfortable and the food and service were excellent.

I stayed there last May. Gun registration was very smooth, the transfer to and from the airport was as smooth and the food, lodging and staff were delightful. A no stress lay over. I look forward to doing it again on my next safari in 2013. Really good folks. Cheers.

Thanks again Deidre

Thanks Deidre. See you in 7 weeks. Looking forward to a great meal and a good night's rest prior to moving on to Zim, where the Ele are awaiting my arrival. And thanks for updating my .458Lott ammo quantity on SAPS.

To give you an idea of how good the food is at Africa Sky, my wife and I were eating at a very famous steak house in San Angelo, Texas this past week and I remarked how good the steaks were. My wife replied, "There not as good as the filet at Africa Sky Guest House"!!! How is that for a compliment???

Pretty good guess, only from a Texan!!! San Angelo has a couple of really good steak places, ZD was on the way so that's where I landed.
Everything I had at ASGH was fantastic. We pre-ordered our meal before we left the US right down to the desserts. A good meal and a hot shower hit the spot after that plane ride from hell.
