Question:
After lamenting this choice longer than it took me to decide to get married ( a second time ). Which 375 H&H should I get ?

Choices:
Ruger 77 Magnum
Remington 700
Winchester model 70
older Sako
Forget the 375 and buy a 45-70 :)

Wow ! 64 % for the model 70 currently. I rather thought the ruger might have more support.

Why not a CZ?

the model 70 safari Express is a great rifle right out of the box. I'd also agree with Peter. Look at a CZ.

I just purchased the Ruger M77 RSM MKII in 458 Lott after years of contemplation. The Ruger is a fine rifle right out of the box, but somewhat cashy. For the money, the CZs are very hard to beat. Just my $0.03 worth.

Wouldn't it depend on how well each gun fits you? My choice was easy, I wanted a CRF DG rifle and I'm left handed so that means Winchester.

Thats a good point. The reason I overlook the CZ is two fold. Firstly I want to add a McMillian stock. secondly I have small hands so the it seems a bit bulky. I do really like the look of the Ruger. I can get one with tax for about $1300. The winny is about $1,000. Plus it has the availability of a stock but I always wonder if I'm trying to be a bit to frugal and if I should wait and spend more $$$. I have NEVER been so conflicted about buying a gun in my life. Confused

I think the decision is easy if you compare all three rifles side by side. I choose the Ruger because it had the best feel and fit and looked to have the best workmanship. Don't short your self by buying the lowest price. You get what you pay for. It is also very accurate right out of the box. CHEERS

I have big hands and the Ruger still seems too big, at least in 375. I vote for M70 even knowing that it will probably need enough work and cost more than the Ruger. If I wanted a big gun the Ruger would be my choice, without a doubt.

I voted for the Model 70 even though I own a Ruger. It's just that the Ruger frame is so big for something as "light" (comparativly) as the .375.

Had you been seeking something bigger, say a .416, either Rigby or Remington, I would give the edge to the large-framed Ruger .416 Rigby over the "little" Model 70 in .416 Remington.

That's my opinion. Now take it to Starbucks along with $2 and buy a cup of coffee.

It's not by accident that the M-70 gets the votes
