I went there two time and for two time chosed the last week of June and the first of July. On 2005 it was warm, very pleasant. On 2007 it was cold, very cold and not so pleasant. But higly probably my choice would be the same bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

Steve, We had an extremely cold winter over the dates you talk about in 2007 very uncommon. That was the coldest I have ever felt in the bushveld next to the limpopo late June begining of July in 2007. Frederik Cocquyt I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Air fares to JNB increase by a few hundred bucks June 1, so travel the last few days of May locks in the lower rate both ways. Then you can take advantage of the Kudu rut and the Impala may still be a bit into it. There is no bad time. (You probably knew that)

Hey Ackley, The guys are right. There really isn't a bad time between April 1 and October 1. I've found that June, July and August are the first months to book up fast. But, airfare is also most expensive during this time. April and May are cheaper on the flights, as is late August through October But, it'll get quite warm around this time. I like July and into August personally.

Frederik, honestly speaking I know that it has been an exceptional event. But my (at that time) hunting buddy took the event in the worst way he could. Take in consideration that, as in the first travel, I had only a sweater with me because on first experience the warm very pleasant. And the sweater I had last year was lighter than the one I had three years ago. My HB Giuseppe, instead, had a heavy wind proof sweater, winter vest, and a windproof jacket. And he continued complaining about the cold and all the possible and impossible things and facts rela ted to the cold (cold bed, cold room etc etc) I continued to explain him that it was a really exceptional situation, but he did not want to understand accusing me of disinformation about the local temperatures. A really sad and stressing situation. When at the end of the hunt we did a tour, he was still in the most negative attitude he could be, generating a lot of stress. It is all the winter that he is waiting to come with me to hunt wild boars, and the hunt closed on the end of December. I think that he will wait for a lot of time. However there is another reason to go in that period, the flight should cost a little less than later. bye Stefano Waidmannsheil
