Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Matt GrahamYeah - I saw that on the website the other day. Be interesting to see how much Hunting=Conservation content will be included in the show??
If there is some good quality content it will sure be a good promo for hunting!!

T manI likes it so far. My concern is on these type of shows they like to make hunters look like yokels.
I didn't go up there to die, I went up there to live.

Oryxhunter1983I much prefer the Mounted in alask on history to the new taxidermy show on Discovery. That show makes us certainly look like inbred hillbilly trash!

RW TaylorI have watched it a couple of times and have enjoyed it. The owner can be a little dramatic when shouting out orders to everyone. Having said that it shows the real thing as it is being done which is not only interesting but informative, i believe in a positive way...hope it stays that way. I plan to watch tonight

724wdthe coyote looked pretty good, but the jumping deer looked lifeless and i'd rather not comment on the horses ass.
second show i saw was better than the first. the lion they did in the premier was a travesty!

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

My grandmother whom was born in OK before it was state and whom did not have indoor plumbing until 1957...had a saying:
It is no crime to wear patched clothes but it is a sin to not be clean and one can't help ones IQ but it is one's own fault to be ignorant!

Speaking of rednecks...when they rounded me up out of the brush and sent me off to college...it took my English teachers 2 years to just get where we could communicate.
I speak at a lot at veterinary meetings...I am famous for my "redneck" expressions mixed into my talks. It cracks people up to be speaking on cutting edge surgery and regenerative medicine at the cellular level then throw out some ole Cowboy expression.

cable68Medicalese doesn't go over too well in rural Oklahoma; I've started collecting a lot of my sayings like that and I'm seriously thinking about getting them into a book someday.
