Man 'killed' animals at home 01/04/2009 13:25 - (SA) Johannesburg - A man was arrested for allegedly having a slaughterhouse at his home in Pretoria where he killed wild animals, the Tshwane community safety department said on Wednesday. Spokesperson Console Tlelane said the By-Law Enforcement Centre received a call from the SPCA on Tuesday that there might have been some illegal killing at residential premises in Waterkloof. "Our officers were dispatched to investigate, accompanied by officials from the city's agriculture and environment management. "Upon arrival a lot of animal bones were found lying around," he said. The agriculture and environment management officials determined that the bones found on the premises belonged to lions and rhinos. The man was expected to appear in the Pretoria Regional Court on Thursday. Tlelane said the man was allegedly from Asia and in the country illegally. - SAPA Kathi kathi@wildtravel.net 708-425-3552 "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

Oh come on. He was merely doing an "estate" hunt. Did any animals qualify for SCI book? The price of knowledge is great but the price of ignorance is even greater.
