Would it be possible to create a club in a country allowing import of trophies, where ivory could be held on display until until importable into the hunters home country? Could make for an impressive game lodge in an area with good bird or sheep hunting and would be an end run around USFW insanity.

Nice idea, but somehow I doubt that it’s practical in that it would technically be a reimportation unless it stays in the country it was taken in.

Most places that allow import of hunting trophies don’t allow reimportation as it’s basically a trade in ivory legally.

If the "Club" was an elephant research facility would it be possible to long term loan the ivory for testing?
I could envision a Gentleman's Hunt Club holding a big bore shoot in the off season with good scotch, tales of the track and PH's booking hunts. Almost better than taking your ivory home.
