Is there an insurance company who will insure one firearm for one trip to Africa? I called Core-Vens and they only do annual coverage.

Should be able to add an Inland Marine Floater to your homeowners policy for the rifle. Simply take the rifle off the policy when you return home. Make sure when the rifle is scheduled, coverage is for anywhere in the world.

Most homeowners companies should do this for you. I know mine does.

go to www.siai.net

They are great... I've had two claims in
the last three years.

Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

The NRA. They offer $2500 of gun insurance to members for free with upgrades at a small fee.

I talked to one of the representatives about if my rifle is covered while I'm hunting in Africa. She said yes, so that works for me.

I had my rifles appraised and forwarded the apprasials to my home owners insurance agent with the dates of travel for my hunt and was insured while traveling abroad with my rifles.
Simple.

Siai is for Safari Club members and trap shooting association members only. I am not a member of any of thoes clubs. So they can't help me either.

I called my home owner's insurance agent today, Nationwide, and they don't cover losses outside the United States.

Thanks SEVENS, I called the NRA and they directed me to the insurance upgrade website. I purchased the upgraded insurance online. It was considerably less than the Cor-Vens quote.

You guys are great. Thanks

I used the siai on my last trip and came home to find a custom stock broken at the grip. I did not insure the rifle for full value. I did not no exactly how much it was worth since I won the rifle. The paid $4000 minus the airline money. They would have paid the entire $5900 I had it insured for minus the airline payment but I had to send them the rifle. I took the $4000 total and had the stock repaired and you need to look really close to see the repair. Ordered the insurance the night before I left, I was really lucky there. It was my 3 trip to Africa and my first insurance and it was good for a year.
