I noticed the other night in flipping through the channels that OLN now is regularly broadcasting reruns of SURVIVOR! There was Richard (the nude gay man) and his friend Rudy, the old ex-marine, in all of their glory. It made me want to puke my guts out. OLN has steadily gotten worse over time. I originally thought we had an outdoor channel that we could really count on. In reviewing their entire evening's fare we also had more than enough of Bull Riding and other inane programs. I had just about had all that I could take of Lance Armstrong when that finally ended. What alternatives do we all have and how can we get OLN back to where it ought to be? Suggestions and/or alternatives please. What we really need is our own regular channel broadcasting all of our AR member's hunts! Now wouldn't that be a pleasure to watch and we could put faces with names!

since lance armstrong OLN has totally went to shit, maybe it was the french or something, they suck. I have only watched tred barta once, which was again a suck experience cause he didn't shoot anything. he is so worried about that stupid bow, infact I think his kid is the only one who has acutally shot anythign on the show.

More bull riding would be in order. I guess inane is in the eye of the beholder.

you could always pony up the millions of dollars it takes to set up your own TV channel & show the programs that you want then.

Try The Outdoor Channel (TOC). They still show some dumb stuff (bull riding, 4 x 4, Gold digging), but they also show a lot of good hunting programs.

I too enjoy The Outdoor Channel, and have long thought OLN was a joke. At my farm, however, I get The Men's Channel on satellite and find that it frequently has hunting shows during the times when The Outdoor Channel has been hijacked by the goldminers. It also periodically broadcasts The Safari Hunter's Journal.
None of these channels are perfect, but they certainly provide a nice alternative to the regular networks.

The Outdoor Channel and the Men's Channel on Dishnetwork are the only way to go. Screw OLN, they aren't worth wasting your time on.

What TOC needs is a show the specilizes in pot bellied white guys pushing their mid sixties jumping out of a hunting car and blasting a big bad cape buffalo or an elephant that haplessly wondered across a park boundry....man that would be entertainment!

Both channels could use some improvement. What hunting shows you get most involve bowhunting! Oh, I see the "cat lover" with poor syntax and spelling skills has polluted this forum also, Maybe he'll post pictures and anecdotes of his "vast" hunting experience here also. jorge

Well, well, you really don't deserve the time it takes to answer you posting, but I'll take the time anyway. I don't know who yuo are or your backgraound and don't care.
From you postings you are certainly a strange one to be reading AR, African Hunting given the fact that hunting big game and dangerous game is the purpose and goals of the discussions. Fat, Old, young, white or colored, so what?

You forgot bowhunter do we not have the right to pursue African game, er. DG without it being refered to by a handful of regular posters here as a STUNT HUNT?
Africanhunter you wouldn't by chance be known by the name Tink would you?

My, my testy aren't you?
I was refering to Tink Nathan prior outfitting company owner in Africa also he did at one time own a line of scetns called "Tink's 69".
Tink is known as Africanhunter on another forum.
I will ask if you are more interested in trolling and arguements as these two posts of yours seem to determine.

I don't really have a dog in this hunt, as I have virtually ceased television viewing. But I wouldn't mind seeing reruns of American Sportsman with Bing Crosby and Phil Harris singing scat back and forth as they hunted pheasants.

Since the founder of the Outdoor Channel, IIRC, primary passion is gold prospecting, I don't think Gold Fever is going away anytime soon. Wink

If that's the case you'd think that he'd work on the production quality of that show. It need's help. Lot's of help.

They can take the rodeo's and shove them. That is what a rodeo channel is for.

Little known fact - you can add The Outdoor Channel to any DirecTV package "al la carte" for $1.99 per month. First you must make contact with a live person.

I don't think it would be a bad idea to contact someone who works for the T.V. show itself and ask them if they would show some of the hunts from AR members.
Worse they could do is tell you no.
