I may have 3 or 4 days to kill after my Zim hunt in Matetsi this summer. We are flying in and out of Joberg, where could we go for a few days of plains game with out having to charter or fly.

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

If you're in the mood for some long range shooting on the highveld plains I have a place about 2 hours from JNB.

Species available:

Black Wildebeest - $750
Blue Wildebeest - $850
Gemsbok - $1,000
Red Hartebeest - $900
Blesbok (Common) - $300
Blesbok (White) - $370
SA Springbok - $300
Waterbuck - $1,500
Zebra - $1,200
Eland - $1,800

Not the most scenic place to hunt but lots and I mean LOTS of animals on 10,000 acres.

I have a place 50 miles and about 50 minutes from OR Thambo with a good selection of both grassvels and bushveld species. Depending on dates some very good wingshooting in immediate vicinity. All game bird hunting in South Africa is season bound. Accommodation choices from 5 star & 3 star on the property within very easy walking distance from the actual hunting grounds. Alternative, "normal" game lodge, or self-catering bungalow within 5 minutes' drive from hunting area. Trophy fees unbeatable and daily rates depends on accommodation choice.

AR references that hunted with me on same properties available. Please send message to andrew@mclarensafaris.com with dates and any other questions, desires for quote. Let me arrange a custom short duration hunt for you at unbeatable value for money spent costs.

In good hunting.

One cannot cure:

Stupidity – nothing helps! Anti hunting sentiments – nothing helps! Put-‘n-Take Outfitters – money rules!

My very long ago ancestors needed and loved to eat meat. Today I still hunt!

Plenty of DG downtown JNB.

The other option is to do some tiger fishing near Vic Falls.

Or bird hunting in RSA? That's a blast, 3 days is perfect, excellent pigeon, francolin, waterfowl, guineas, doves and even quail.
