We go thru this over and over again. There is zero chance this buffalo via breeding ever generates anywhere near the cash flow it sold for.

It is a mechanism for corruption - the owners will be entities controlled by south african politicians and the buyer will be south african businessmen. Or it may be a transfer of tax efficient capital between entities.

Exactly. It is a method by which money is washed (laundered; if you will). It creates a false market for "comps," but I don't know if it trickles down.
