I'd like to take the opportunity to say farewell to all for awhile. On Tues, I depart for my 7th and last major deployment for the United States Navy. We head east across the Atlantic for a summer cruise to parts as yet undetermined. I'm not sure what the next 6 months hold for me, but it should be fairly interesting to say the least.

I hope you all have a good summer and for those of you Africa bound, I wish you success. I will re-join the forums when I return from the cruise.

Keep your powder dry and your shots true. I will miss the discussions.

Cheers

Mac aka Tom Cacy QMC(SW) USN

Ditto, too often we fail to thank and recognize those that give so much for our freedoms.

All the best, MAC! Thanks for your service to our country.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Mac, we recently celebrated Memorial Day with a memorial service at our club. We remembered folks who we used to know, and for the most part, whom had not been "heroes" in the sense of having given their all years before most of us could have met them. Many of those we've been remembering were there when those heroes became heroes, though, but usually wouldn't talk much about that kind of thing. For those of us who miss our heroes -- and our lost friends -- the measure of our loss has been in the daily time they spent with us, measures of generosity and companionship that are usually not so dramatic.

Thank you for serving. I hope you come back safely, and share more of your time with us.

Dan
