thanks fla 3006! I have one of those .404 Jefferys.. -Not original but Norma rebarreled it for me 14 years ago and, yes that ZG 47 started its life as a .270 Winchester. I am thinking of buying a 9,3x62 and a 7x64... a 9,3x62 in 95% condition was sold at an gun auction here in Stockholm for no kidding -$250 US Husky

Husky, $250 for that 9.3 makes me cry. Why didn't you bid?! Kutenay, there seems to be relatively lots of ZGs in Scandinavia but Canada has its share too. Many of mine came from there. Very few in the USA, not many to begin with (about 20K).

I'm not ALF but you can add 5.6x61, 270Win, 30-06, 8x68, 9.3x64 & 10.75x68. I've also heard rumours of an original 404Jeff and a 5.6x57. My favorite "carry gun", a well used 7x57 sans scope:

I would commit various unspeakable acts to have an ORIGINAL ZG-47 in 9.3x62, especially with the Monte Carlo stock and in pristine condition. I would rather have that rifle than anything on the market today, even a Champlin. There are TOO MANY lovely Brnos in Sweden and they should all immigrate to Canada and then into my home!
