30 days until I depart for Zim. This will be my 3rd hunt with Charlton McCallum Safaris. We'll be after Tuskless and Buffalo again, same as my hunt with them in the Dande Safari Area back in October of 2010. It's going to be hot but hopefully I'm better prepared for the heat this time.
Will be using two doubles this trip for a Double / Double Safari. A 577NE VC for the heavy and a Chapuis 9.3x74R (scoped) for back up and smaller stuff. Using the CEB BBW#13 Solids and Non-Cons exclusively this time.
For me, breaking the 30 day barrier is when the excitement really builds and the trip becomes real. The guns and ammo are ready, just a few more trips to the range to stay sharp. Packing and repacking and repacking again just adds to the anticipation. I hope to have a good hunt report for you guys and possibly a few video clips to enjoy.
It will almost be anti-climactic by the time the month rolls around. You'll have packed and unpacked, (made your list and checked it more than twice), decided to take something and then changed your mind twice, weighed your bag and gun case repeatedly, have trouble sleeping with the anticipation. You'll find yourself daydreaming about the big one you didn't find last trip just standing there waiting on you after a fantastic stalk... I could go on forever and I only have9 more months to go before I leave. Good luck

Looking forward to it buddy! Funny how we live the entire year for a two week trip!! Rich says he may come down to Dande to shoot the 577. I'm trying to hook him up with one. Do you think a 12.5 lb gun would slow him down enough for an old guy like me to keep up with him? Probably not!
Chris,
32 days!! Whoo Hoo!! The anticipation is one of the best parts don't you think?! Where are you going?
Aaron,
I've been shooting it at least once a week now, sometimes twice. I really love that rifle, especially after taking the weights out. We know it's a buff stopper, eh!!! I've watched your video where you turned the buff off of Phillip with that gun at point blank range a couple of times now.

I am going to Namibia for a leopard hunt. Guns are ready, ammo is made, bags are packed. Just waiting for the calender to be right. I am going to test the CEB non-cons on the cat and some bait. We all know they work on Buffalo and Elephant. I assume these will work just fine. Time will tell.
Travel safe and Good Luck.

I'm sure they will Chris. I used the CEB Non-Cons on a Black Bear over bait in April this year with my 9.3x74. Very devastating! I would think they will be just the ticket on Mr. Spots!!
Good luck on your leopard and I hope you have a great time!
