My daughter wants me to take her with me to Africa. I am planning on booking a hunt in Mozambique for cape buffalo.

She will not shoot and is not a country girl by any stretch of the imagination. She is strong willed and I am sure she will have fun with me, but I have tried to explain to her that this is not like going to the mall.

What would be the best time of year to book the hunt so she has the best odds of surviving the climate, insects, and all the other fun things that Africa has to offer.

She is no slouch. She has already been to Africa twice on her own, and ended up spending a week in a hospital in Ghana with some serious food poisoning.

I realize there are compromises to be made, and she is going to have to 'cowboy up' a bit, but I also don't want to have to be constantly watching her while I am trying to hunt.

Any ideas?

Haven't selected a WH yet. Looking at 2017, but I have a schedule conflict in Sept. of that year and am waiting to resolve that before I book.

I appreciate your help.

Does she mind cold weather?
July or August will be colder and have less insect problems.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Agree on July. I live in Alabama. In July in Nuanetsi for example, it was not hot, not humid at all, and there were very few bugs. In other words, Nuanetsi was way more comfortable than Alabama. The Mbizi camp was great, the food was five star, and there is an abundance of animals to hunt or photograph.

In any case, the Dallas Safari Club or Safari Club Int'l conventions are great places to talk to outfitters and get ideas.
