Will be in Zim next year. Was anticipating an overnight stay at Ridgeway House which I am informed has closed down.
There is Amanzi Lodge, but what other options are available ? I'm sure Amanzi is entirely suitable but something along simple lines usually satifies me. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers.

Another vote for sunbird. I forget her name but I think it was Sally. She was a super host.

I stayed at Ridgeway House once and it was exceptional. I am sorry to hear it has closed down. Any reason besides the obvious?

My wife and I stayed at The Homestead this past September. It was booked thru and recommended by our PH, Thierry Labat.

Owned and operated by Guy Whitall's in-laws.

I would highly endorse The Homestead and you can feel free to PM me with any questions.

I was in Harare earlier this week and stayed at the Highlands House guest lodge. I only have great things to say about my time there.

I can also recommend Sally at Sunbird Guest House.

Let us know if you need any other details.

Gentlemen,
Thankyou all for the great recommendations. These made my task much easier.
I have booked with Sally Brown, Sunbird Guest House. Sally handled my enquiries professionally and promptly as any reputable business person would. Also checked some other online comments re Sunbird which were overwhelmingly positive. I specifically asked and Sally assures me they are quite accustomed to guests travelling with hunting firearms.

I have not been to Zimbabwe since 2014. On my last two trips I stayed at the Bronte. Could not have been more pleased.
