Does anyone know when the next issue of Hatari Times is coming out? I think the last issue I received was No. 23, all about Australia. Thought maybe I missed an issue. Too good of a read to miss any.

Hatari Times and African Hunter are the only two magazines I actually read from cover to cover.

I think he publishes it as soon as he gets enough material.

I was told the same thing at SCI. I hate waiting for HT to show up, but I love the quality.

I am glad that Harald refuses to skimp on quality.

My one gripe is that does not do more rifle builds in the magazine. Seeing that level of workmanship is a real treat these days.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

if you think the magazine is cool, you should have seen the rifles he is building he had at the SCI show in Reno! I think I got Boomie to post a picture or two a day or two later. I just wish he could go bi-weekly and hold the quality.

I love the magazine and have been a subscriber since vol #1 but--
I have not received volume 23. It has been 10 to 12 months since I have received a copy. When you e-mail him it goes into some kind of revolving file that everyone can read and you get no answer. I know he only prints when he has material but his excuses are getting old.

I called him an hour ago, he didn't want to deal with me right now and told me to call him back tommorow.

That's what the bastard gets for putting his home phone number on the website.

I gave up on it long ago. He is perfectly willing to take your money but I am no longer willing to comply with his schedule no matter the quality. His articles were of primary interest only to him and the areas he goes to are not of great interest to me. His gunsmithing articles and articles on some of the rarer guns were interesting. He seems a nice person the one time I met him and I greatly admire his skill as a gunsmith but as a publisher to put it succinctly 'he sucks'.

I said screw it and sent him an email. If he doesn't respond by Friday I will call him and ask him what the hell is going on?

He has the ability to be a nice guy, but I think he bites off much more than he can chew.

He was looking for a partner in America a few years ago to sell his rifles, he had a line planned. But I don't think you could count on him to build them in any kind of timely matter.

Nice guy, bites off more than he can chew. Has zero personality over the phone, but like previously stated he is decent to deal with in person.

I visited at length with Harald in Reno. He has had some health problems since Vol.23 was printed and has put on quite a lot of weight due I suppose to inactivity. He has scheduled some hunts coming up, so it will be awhile before we #24.

He was friendly, personable, and apologized for not getting his magazine out to his waiting fans. And yes, he had a couple of nice rifles that he had built. Master craftsman for sure.

I only speculate that we may never see #26? or #27? or ...................... Nevertheless, I will ride with him as long as he tromps the bush and writes back about it.

Gave him a call today and got told that he would put the Australia one in the mail.

He sounded like hell.
