Trying to pull the wallet trigger on life memberships in various orgs. One being DSC, or SCI or Boone & Crockett or Wild Sheep Foundation.
What did you join in a bigger way than the regular yearly membership???

Question:
Are you a life member of SCI, DSC or both?

Choices:
SCI
DSC
Both

Both. Plus FNAWS, NRA and CCA. I support all of the organizations that protect our lifestyle and give back to protect our rights and keep wild places wild.

I am a member of DSC, SCI and NRA but at my age joining for 3 years at a time makes more sense.

I became a life member of SCI about fifteen years ago. I had a been a member, paying annual dues, since about 1980 and decided I may as well just get a life membership and be done with it.

I see little reason to belong to DSC as the organization really has little to do with any conservation projects or lobbying for hunters in Canada. SCI has a fair number of chapters in Canada now and the chapters, in conjunction with the parent org, are doing a lot of good work up here.

I also rarely go to shows anymore, as I really can't stand the crowds and noise...preferring to stay home and enjoy the winter solitude and do a little trapping. Doing shows made sense back when I was outfitting, but not any longer, now that I am retired (whatever that is). And to be honest, even though I know DSC is a good organization, if I did decide to go to a show it would be SCI, as I hate to travel in early January when DSC holds their convention.

By the end of Christmas and New Years I am pretty much "peopled out" and need to go into hermit mode for about a month.

Life SCI, benefactor life plus some for the NRA, but haven’t given more since the whole LaPierre crap came up. Life endowment (or something like that) for Ducks Unlimited.

The rest of them are annual. I probably will spring for life DSC at some point.

I’ve been a Sponsor level member of DSC for 20-25 years.

Why not Life? Well, I get that question often. I may just do the Life to avoid the question and get a cool sticker and vest.

However, I’ve declined and assumed the $150 or so each year I pay could’ve been two Life memberships over that duration. If I pay the $1,500, then DSC doesn’t get recurring revenue. I know my annual payment doesn’t mean much more than a drop in the bucket, but it is something.

I may just call and do it tomorrow.

I have been a Boone and Crocket lifetime member for 25 years.

I would not join them again.

I would do SCI and DSC and forget about it. The sheep magazine is ok, not great. I do not like the president of Sheep, never met him but he strikes me as being not for me.

Life SCI (and NRA). I may head to the DSC convention this winter to check it out. I've been doing 3 year memberships with them for a little over a decade, haven't committed to life yet.

I’m a Life Member at SCI and a Benefactor Life Member at the NRA. I’m not thrilled with Wayne and his group over there, just don’t know who else to contribute to in order to preserve our Second Amendment rights.
