On my first elephant hunt I hunted between Mhangura and the Doma Safari Area. That is one steep and rugged area and I have been in some steep rugged areas. One of the PH's was an ex Selous Scout and one of the toughest men I have ever had the priviledge to know. Before this trip my normal walk was 5 miles per day and 10 miles on Saturday and I did this for months. At the time I was in my late 60's and he walked me into the ground literally. I have never seen a man as physically fit. I also found out that Elephants can climb mountains with the best of them. We found their sign on some trails I had a hard time standing up on. If I had not seen it I would not believe it.

On my first Ele. hunt I walked just over 100k in 14 days. It was the most challanging and rewarding hunts of my life.
