Tim, I have been watching and enjoying the show a lot and this will be a theft of your post but since you mention the Nosler post I had a question and feel compelled to ask. Recognizing that this is not you and advance apololigies for connecting you I was curious of the new safari company Rob Dunham is in with I think a guy named Smith. This is in the Matetsi area and I am familar with a lot of wrong doing in that area and am just asking straight up if this is a legit Zim operator or is it another SA entity working with one of Mugabees crowd. Reason for asking is that in the premire episode, Rob and the other owner are hunting with people that looked familar (PH) who I had remembered as being part of that group. Again, not meaning to spread despair where it is not needed and apoligize for being blunt but the type of misbehavior is killing the good Zimbos. Being a trusting guy, I certainly hope this one is on the legit but I thought you may enlighten us. Rob seems like a great guy and I feel confident that you guys would have vetted this out. Martin, Buzz, etc. may know the players and have input as well. York, SC

Honestly all I know is that Rob is in a partnership with Smith as far as ownership. They have Zim licensed PH's on every hunt to be sure they are legal. They are buying quota in the area and running a few hunts each year. I will be the first to say I am not sure, but I think they are buying quota from and leasing their camp from HHK. I may be wrong on that, so don't take it to the bank. Good Hunting, Tim Herald Worldwide Trophy Adventures tim@trophyadventures.com

Thanks all. Brian, That NE show will be mid-late summer. Butch...honestly, I didn't want to sling a bullet into a yellow blur that was twisting and turning. I hated to blow up a part of him I didn't want to, and even though I was a little concerned after, I was really confident. I had a dead steady rest at 62 yards, and I was just surprised he didn't crumble. Ended up I hit him exactly where I aimed- double lung. I watched the show last night. Interesting how the cat attacked the bait after the shot. I don't recall that ever happening on the previous leopard hunts I've watched. Also, interesting use of the toilet paper. I said something to my wife about the toilet paper, but you then explained its use. I'm surprised it didn't make the cats more cautious. Seems like the leopards are not very light sensitive either. BOth cats were taken in broad daylight. Great show and looking forward to the rest of the story! Tim does a great job and the show is always high quality. Heck! I even appeared in one episode. As for the leoaprds in daylight they are relatively easy to get on bait in daylight where they have never been persecuted as varmints as they have in a lot southern Africa. My leopards have all been taken in daylight with minimal effort. Mark MARK H. Hey Tim, that cat looked to be well hit but lived way too long. Did the bullet not do a proper job; not enough expansion? You did say in the show that he ran quite a ways.

The bullet performance looked good to me. There was a quarter sized exit hole on the offside from a .300 Win, but it did slip between bones on both sides, so it didn't break anything to break him down- just luck of the shot I guess. I used a Nosler E-tip which I have found to be quite a tough bullet with serious penetration. On that trip I got total pass throughs on shoulder shot zebra, quartering to hartebeest, and end to end penetration on an impala. I might prefer a faster expanding Accubond in the future as I do thing the E-tip is a deep penetrating bullet that doesn't expand quite as fast. It has done an excellent job on elk and red stag, and is super accurate out of my gun. The cat was probably alive 15 seconds and traveled about 150 yards. I watched it tonight... well done Tim! Great cat and superb footage. You broke your leopard "curse" in a big way. Congrats! And I see what you meant about Jumbo's camp. Very nice. I recorded the show earlier and just watched it. What hunt! I've never seen anything like that cat attacking the bait after being it. It was awesome. Then, I was astounded when he ran off. Couldn't believe it. Your stomach must have been tied up in knots. Way to go Tim! Glad it turned out so well. I'd sure love to hunt with Kambako! Tim, why was the blind only two sided instead of being fully enclosed? Congrats on a fine hunt and a curse broken. Mike

Mike, We built it for a walk up in morning as the cat was feeding in the AM. We had him on trail cam, and knew where he was coming from, so we figured that was all we needed. Good Hunting, Tim Herald Worldwide Trophy Adventures tim@trophyadventures.com
