I was scrolling through my pics and clips from my November 06 hunt in Save with Shangaan's Gordon Duncan, looking at this clip I took with my photo camera. After dissecting the clip in seconds frame it turned out something like this (distance is estimated roughly and frames are taken inside 1 second margin)...

-3 seconds...get set

-2 seconds...ready

-1 second...steady

0 second...go - 50 meters

+1 second...speeding up - 40 meters

+2 seconds...speeding some more - 25 meters

+3 seconds...full speed - 15 meters

+4 seconds...reaching point of no return - 8 meters - Gordon fires .44 mag to the ground in front of the lady - no effect

+5 seconds...closing the gap - 4 meters - how about getting out of here - pedal to the medal...

+6 seconds...if truck wouldn't work - squash time

If all I had was a 44 mag and no truck in that situation I would just shoot myself.

Don't get fooled by their big bodies, they are much faster than one thinks.

NP guys, pleasure was all mine Smiler

Actually I am still celebrating a good idea by Brits to put a driver on the right side of the vehicle and was about to put a seatbelt on, just to deal with a fresh set of nappies later Big Grin

Joke aside – I think I will never be able to look at elephants in any other way since – they are so inevitable - one indeed feels so puny, with nothing but a tiny bullet against them.
