Hey Guys, Here is another to compliment the Blue Train: http://www.rovos.co.za/ I took Rovos Rail from Pretoria to Cape Town two years ago with my wife after spending 14 days in the Limpopo. IMHO this is the ULTIMATE Train "Ride". I had a separate itinerary made up for my wife and she thought we were going to fly to Cape Town and kept this a secret - she loved it; boy, did I make BIG points! The qaulity of everything is super, the ambiance, dining, beverages of every description; this is the African version of the "Orient Express" with plenty of exciting, interesting and polite fellow travelers. Yeah, it's pricey, but quality always is and we don't do this everyday. For combining a Northern RSA hunt/Kruger National Park with Cape Town and Stellenbosch IMHO this is the only way to fly (train)! An Outfitter delivering his Canadian hunting clients from their Limpopo hunt regocnized my Game Lodge cap and introduced us at the Pretoria Station. Together we had a fun time relating our experiences over South African wines for the next couple of days. It was a relaxing way to unwind from 14 days of 05:00-22:00 (and later) Plains Game hunting. Rovos also offers many other destinations in Africa. While I am not 100% sure I think Rovos Rail was chartered for the Bird Hunting (Shooting) Safari that was mentioned earlier in this thread although their website currently doesn't have a reference to it. Gerry, if it's not too personal of a question, what did that trip cost for you and your wife at that time? Thanks. DB

Look at the pricing for the Blue Train If you have a Netflix account you can order a very good DVD on the Blue Train that covers its whole journey and all its stops and routes. Global Sportsmen Outfitters, LLC Bob Cunningham 404-802-2500

I looked at it real hard in May and wanted to try it, but wasn's sure about transporting a rifle. Maybe somebody has some experience with SAP and this issue? Fred

Fred from Tampa (my hometown!) The train was not an issue with firearms. Cheers, Number 10
