Thinking of going to the Atlanta Safari Show January 13 &14 in the Hyatt Burkhead Hotel. Checked the price for one night at this hotel and it was a little to much when I ran it by the wife. Does anyone know of more reasonable priced hotels in the area? Also, I'm willing to stay in another part of Atlanta and drive over to the show if I could get some parking information. Thanks for any information. MauserK98

The show is only two blocks or so from a MARTA station so you don't have to worry much about parking if you stay elsewhere (cheaper) and that place is also close to a MARTA station. Last year I had to be in Atlanta on business anyway, and flew into ATL and took MARTA to the event from the airport and back with zero problems (except it was cold as a titch's widdy and ice and snow was everywhere). JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

There is a ton of hotels in the area. Buckhead is the high rent district of Atlanta as you saw. Here are a few hotels that are reasonable and within 5 or so minutes driving of the Grand Hyatt. As Ernest said, Marta is not far away so you could stay pretty much any where with a train stop close by and Marta in. Hampton Inn & Suites 3398 Piedmont Rd Atlanta, GA 404-233-5656 Fairfield Inn 3092 Piedmont Rd Atlanta, GA 404-846-0900 Holiday Inn Express 505 Pharr Rd Atlanta, GA 404-262-7880 30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.
