While recently hunting for some 500-465 ammo I spoke with the so-called "US importer" of Kynoch who wasn't very helpful or enthusiastic. The stuff is insanely expensive and I see no reason to use it as we have stuff just as good or better produced domestically.

I suspect there is a pretty big world outside of AR! And some shoot Kynoch factory ammo.

Whether the cost is justified or not, it was the demand for the old British cartridges that brought Kynoch back from the dead, spawned Bertram brass, all the other suppliers of brass and ammo, and most recently Hornady.

Kynoch is still the standard everyone else is always trying to compare themselves. Just be glad they are around.

Will,
I suspect your spot on, AR or any other blog is about the size of Anwar in the big picture, just a tiny spec on the map of hunters world wide.

Kynoch is big around the world where reloading is pretty much illegal or unheard of or so I gather from the many foriegn email discussions I get.

Hey, DC, you still looking for some 500/465? I have five boxs, five rounds each.

There is no love lost between MW Reynolds (former US dist) & Kynoch. Kynoch is likely in between US distributors. Kynoch is good and has been/is the standard. Except I think for 470, said test specs being 2125 fps/31" bbl, gimme a break. No wonder there were many converts to the 500 from 470. Modern 470 from Fed & Norma beat these specs.
